Established by the Government in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) is committed to preparing students for a fulfilling life and career through our professional and versatile curriculum as well as helping students develop core values of fairness, integrity, perseverance and innovation.
In three short decades, the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has grown into a comprehensive and full-fledged university providing both full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as part-time programmes. Today, we are the largest self-financing university in Hong Kong with about 20,000 students enrolling in our programmes.
We respond dynamically to market trends by tailoring our professional programmes to industry needs. Innovative and advanced learning facilities are set up to facilitate specialized teaching and learning. With a wide range of internship and exchange opportunities, our students are able to receive early engagement for career and all-rounded development.
In view of aging population and growing pressure on healthcare services in Hong Kong, we have decided to embark on a new campus development project – The OUHK Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare. It aims to nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals for our society. Moreover, the new Institute will also be a hub to connect the community, academic and private sector in promoting Hong Kong as a healthy city.
